| MT. KAILASH & LAKE MANASAROVAR : 16 days |
| |
Mt. Kailash –22,022 feet(6714m) is considered as the throne of Lord Shiva by Hindus. It is spiritual axis of many great religions like Hindusim, Tibetan Buddhism, the Jain religions and ancient Tibetan religion BONPO. Pilgrims carry out devotional circumbulation (parikarma) here. It is believed that just a single Parikarma around Mt. Kailash can remove your sins of lifetime. On the other hand, lake Manasarovar at 14950 feet (4558 m) is said to be the highest fresh water lake in the world which is sprawled below Mt. Kailash. It is believed that a ritual bath will deliver a pilgrim to Brahma’s paradise. KAILASH HAS NOT ONLY RELIGIOUS IMPORTANCE BUT ALSO HAS NATURE, ADVENTURE, CULTURE AND ARCHELOLOGICAL SIGNIFICANCE. |
