LANGTANG VALLEY TREK
20 nights / 21 days
 

The Langtang valley is aptly called ‘the valley of glaciers.' Here, mountains rise soaring towards the sky. The valley offers pine forest, swift mountain streams, rugged rock and snow-capped peaks, grassy downs and meadows strewn with daisies and wild Primulas.

 
ITINERARY

Day 01 Arrive Kathmandu (1350 m)
Arrival at the Kathmandu airport and transfer to the hotel.

Day 02 Kathamandu (
4 hrs/1350 m)
Half day sightseeing around Kathamandu on/at hotel.

Day 03 Kathmandu - Dhunche (7-
8 hrs/1950m )
Drive along the Rainban, climb to Kakani  having the good views of Himalayas i.e.Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, and Langtang. Down to Trisuli via a flat piece of land of Batar stop for Lunch (Dal bhat). Climb up to Dhunche via Kalikasthan.Pass through the National Park

Day 04 Dhunche – Syabru village (
6 hrs/2200m)
Walking along the road to Thulo Bharku and steep up to Barbal for lunch and walk along the side. It is beautiful countryside with Oaks and Pine trees and a lots of bird life.

Day 05 Syabru - Lama Hotel (
6-7 hrs/2480m
After breakfast descend along the village and cross the bridge and climb other side. Slow climb along the Langtang river all the way to Lama hotel over night.

Day 06 Lama Hotel - Langtang Village (
5-6 hrs/3480m)
Beautiful vegetations around Oaks, Hemlock, and bamboos with birds. Ascend along the Lang tang Khola passing Ghoratabela watching the views of Lang tang Himal. It is the village famous for year round cultivation and people grow Potatoes, Buckwheat, Barley and vegetables.  A monastery situated  in the village can be  visited.

Day 07 Langtang valley -Kyangjin Gompa (
4-5 hrs/3900m)
A short beautiful alpine trek along the meadows where grazing Yaks, Sheep and Mountain goats can be seen. Arrival at sub-Alpine meadow ,a cheese factory and ancient monastery .

Day 08 Kyangjin Gompa (
All day/3900m)
An excellent look out can be reached by climbing the slopes immediately behind the Kyangjin. The majestic 7200m Langtang Lirung rises above the glaciers. Day is ended viositing the cheese factory. It is really a good experience to try a climb to Tsergo Ri (5033m.)

Day 09 Kyangjin –Lama Hotel (6-
7 hrs/2480m )
After Brekfast Descend the same trail. Any body looking  for some adventure can go to Ganjala pass (5200 m) to Helambu valley –Tarkeghang.

Day 10 Lama Hotel- Syabru (
5-6 hrs/220m)
Climb down and up to Shyaberu  village.

Day 11 Syabru - Sing Gompa (4-
5 hrs/3350m )
Path goes up hill steep with starting ridge after Pholung Dada it turn to left views with Dhunche and Trisuli valley. Easy path arrive Shiggompa where cheese factory is situated is cheese factory and half climb to Gosaikunda Pilgrim.

Day 12 Sing Gompa – Gosainkund (
6-7 hrs/4320m
We follow a rugged trail with dramatic views; to the west Himal Chuli (7893m) Manaslu (8156m,) and Mustang (7406m.) On a clear day even the Annapurna range can be seen rising up behind and to the north across the valley is Langtang Lirung.We pass a few huts in the high pasture of Laurebina, cross a small ridge and have our first views of the holy lakes. There are about a dozen lakes in the Gosainkunda Basin, the main three being Saraswatikund, Bharab Kunda and Gosainkunda. According to legend, Shiva created Gosainkunda when he pierced a glacier with his trident to obtain water to quench his thirst after having swallowed a poison that threatened to destroy the world.

Day 13 Gosainkunda – Ghopte (
7 hrs/3560m)
Climb up to Lauribinayak pass (4610 mtr) and descend down steeply to Phedi for lunch and walking along side to Ghopte through the Juniper’s bushes.

Day 14 Ghopte – Kutumsang (
7 hrs/2440m)
Descend down a little bit and climb to Thare pati and descend along Thare dada via Mongen Goth passing through Pines, Rhododendron Jungle.

Day 15 Kutumsang – Chisopani (
8 hrs/2190m)
Day with good views of Helambu valley and walking up and down the along the ridge all day and climb up to Chisapani for good Sun set views.

Day 16 Chisopani – Kathmandu (
3 hrs/1300m)
Ascend up to Borlang Bhanjang 2430 mtr and descend down steeply to Sundarijal via Mulkharka village. Drive with private transport
